Corona challenge forces the Exhibition Center Offenburg to postpone the fairs BAUEN WOHNEN Garten, Balance with Gemstones Expo and FORST live withWild and Fisch for an indefinite period of time.
Offenburg. Due to the current developments regarding the spread of the coronavirus COVID-19, the Exhibition Center Offenburg is taking a drastic measure: The regional public trade fair BAUEN WOHNEN Garten from 20 – 22 March 2020, the double trade fair Balance with Gemstones Expo from 28 – 29 March and the international trade fair FORST live with Wild & Fisch from 3 – 5 April 2020 will not take place as planned, but will be postponed to an as yet undetermined date.
In postponing the fair the Exhibition Center Offenburg is following the recommendation of the Federal Minister of Health, Jens Spahn, and the State Minister of Health, Manne Lucha, in the fight against the coronavirus (Covid-19). The risk assessment of major events was based on the principles of the Robert Koch Institute. Based on the event evaluation and the recent significant increase in the number of infected persons, the situation was reassessed. Uncertainty among exhibitors and visitors has increased significantly. Unfortunately, the sometimes pronounced drop in visitor numbers at other trade fairs currently being held also reinforces the necessity of this difficult decision. “Our customers, partners and employees trust us. They can have that trust even in critical situations,” emphasises Exhibition Center Offenburg Director Sandra Kircher. “This decision was very difficult for all those involved. But in view of the increasingly dynamic developments, this is unfortunately necessary and unavoidable,” explains Supervisory Board Chairman and Mayor Marco Steffens.
Visitors and exhibitors will receive further information in the next few days.
